The latest LJ news post informs us of the Explore LJ feature. In their own words, ’...recent public posts are analyzed electronically and then placed into the areas where they best fit, if there is indeed such an area.’

The good news is that it won’t feature your locked/private posts. The bad news is that your public posts are already up for grabs unless you opt out of ‘Explore Area Exclusion.’

As for communities, the ability of each post to be grabbed is up to the individual poster; there’s no ‘opt out’ function for community maintainers.

So anyway, who wants to see a balding, middle-aged comedian gracefully demonstrate the ‘Evolution Of Dance? If it were David Hewlett, I wouldn’t be able to watch it because of my squick factor. But because I don’t know this guy, I’m quite comfortable with enjoying his talent.

( I've put a line of squicky writing behind the cut because, on second thoughts, I don't want this popping up unfiltered on someone's flist  )

I just read a McKay/Sheppard fic where Rodney has an I.Q. of almost 300. This has me giggling like a loon so it's probably time I went to bed.

I do have patience for bad!fic and clichés. I will read mpreg, animal transformations and genderfuckery. I will read death fics, cheating fics and fics that are written in pretentious styles - "You see your hand stretch out to open the door…"

I don't care if there are few spelling errors or if the content has been done to death. Can someone say 'Aliens Made Them Do It?'

I will read whiny!Rodney, bossy!Rodney, fat'n'sweaty!Rodney and virgin!Rodney. I will read crossdressing!John, psychopathic!John, emo!John and emotionallybarren!John.

Basically, I'm about the quantity as well as the quality.

Deluge me, McKay/Sheppard fans! Let your poor, your sick, your crazy ideas cascade over my body; arms held open in thanksgiving to your over-the-top, purple-prosed, SPAG-filled, cliché-ridden fics.
